Spoken Token

Here is a token to write from the One soul that makes One and all whole.

One should take this token and behold it more than a silver tongue, more than wearable gold.

For theatre, a life changing film, a novel, or beats with a rhyme would have never been told,

Without a  token redeemed for words to be spoken.

Here is a token to speak from the One soul that makes One and all whole.

One should take this token to express, caress, and decompress things that heat the heart and stir the mind.

For love, spirit, and creativity we seek, we shall not find,

Without a token redeemed for speak to be spoken.

Here is a token to dream with the One soul that makes One and all whole.

One should take this token and bring forth their dreams from the dark slumber of night.

For One could not recognize their dreams in the waking days of brilliant light,

Without a token redeemed for dreams to be spoken.

Sweeping Attention

Wind sweeps, swirls, picks up, puts down, and carries with it the silent, strong wishes of the hopeful. Soft bellows skim a dusty floor to uncover brilliance hiding under filth. Sweeping is a passing, a feeling, a whimsical invisible world in constant motion. It’s a reminder that the swift rise and fall of our emotions are like that of a whispering breeze.  All know the feel of gusts, none of us can hold on to it, and none of us see it coming.

Bring full attention to that which no hand can grasp. Do so, and  in a sweeping moment you will fly free to where ever the One blows.

Earth Redemption

Earth herself, is a redeemer. She accepts all that dies into herself and regenerates all anew. She transforms decay into development, and waste into growing wonder. However, this cycle of miracle has a time span, just like any process with a start and finish. We have disregarded her patience–trying to convince ourselves that we have control over the redemption of things in life we all need to survive: food, water, air.

This is a gross mistake.

Teaching Love

When One attains the position to teach, One should. Depending on the effect of their teachings, when an individual has the capacity to understand something enough to share it with others, it is wise and kind to do so.

The act of teaching, in essence, is an act of love.

Silence Challenge

'Silence Challenge' photo by Bernadette Ignacio

Silence has solace to offer. Confessions heard by no other ear are the most sincere. Living in an age where constant stimuli bombards our senses, it is a challenge to appreciate what substance there is to be found in quietude. But, when revered, silence offers the same sort of blessed energy as the warm summer sun.

Ending Mystery

'Do more of This' Photo taken at Washington University- Kansas City, Missouri

There are, and forever will be, mysteries that will go unexplained. Though that may be a troubling certainty, we can take great comfort in the opportunity to solve mysteries to which we can find an end. Such are small, yet miraculous mysteries waiting to be  deciphered day by day.

At any moment we can encounter the keys of locked treasures we will curiously stumble upon. Let us recognize those treasures as given gifts, buried purposefully deep within ourselves to discover boundless joy, happiness, and enlightenment. But to enjoy these things, we must confront the possibility of an end we did not expect–or, finding yet another mystery wrapped in the layers of our lives.
