Earth herself, is a redeemer. She accepts all that dies into herself and regenerates all anew. She transforms decay into development, and waste into growing wonder. However, this cycle of miracle has a time span, just like any process with a start and finish. We have disregarded her patience–trying to convince ourselves that we have control over the redemption of things in life we all need to survive: food, water, air.
This is a gross mistake.
From such delusion, we have twisted the hands of time so far forward on “our clock” that we now don’t know how much time we have left. It is a shame for us to have disrespected her this way.
Let us redeem ourselves. We must show our gratitude for the abundance we have been given. She will undoubtedly show what love she still has for us to gather in the sunshine. Let us take no more from her without infinite thanks. Let us show tenderness, instead of neglect, for her reception. Let us let her forgive us, and to our children’s children, she will show redemption.
