As we come to understand compassion, we come to understand our authentic selves, our true nature. But, to realize something of such value comes only with time. We need the days to pass, to feel the sun set, and watch many a moon rise. We must understand that the changes in ourselves happen as the seasons do.
Accepting these changes requires great compassion towards oneself. When our blossoming occurs–like that of a delicate orange bloom into a full- fledged, juicy fruit–we can then offer our sweetness to others.
Only when we are ripe enough with maturity are we then able to give what goodness we have so patiently grown.
