We, each and every single one of us, are here for a purpose. A donkey, also has a purpose. Though, it is more clear to us what a donkey’s purpose is, rather than a person’s. Once wild, roaming animals on the African plains, donkeys are now known to the world as man’s workhorse. They dutifully carry the burden of our loads. Instinctively and stubbornly, they often resist this task. Hence the colloquial saying. But eventually, the donkey helps us with each of his steps full of purpose.
Why is it we can train and identify the best purpose in something else much easier than we can in ourselves? Even if that something by its very nature is resistant. Are we that different from a donkey? I argue that we are not. We are also stubborn. Too many of us resist our better nature. Too few of us learn to train our energies, and use them in purposeful ways.
Those who do will help relieve the burden of others, even if the road is hard and long. At first they may resist, but will realize that they can be the ones who will get us there, with each step full of purpose.
What is your purpose?
